The history of Brunei mail and postage stamps includes the development of postal services in the territory of Brunei, a state in Southeast Asia, during the periods of its being under British protectorate (1888-1983), occupation during the Second World War (1942-1946) and independence of the state since 1984 . Own postage stamps have been issued since 1895. Brunei has been a member of the Universal Postal Union since 1916.
