Scripophilia is the collecting of antique stocks and bonds. Most often we are talking about shares, bonds, temporary certificates and shares of Tsarist Russia. Ancient documents are collected by topic - shares and bonds of industrial enterprises, banks and credit societies, railways, government loans. You can include insurance documents in separate topics - insurance policies, temporary certificates, preliminary certificates, insurance receipts and others. Also of interest to collectors are bills of exchange and other debt documents, such as receipts. It is customary to classify lottery tickets as scripophilia, although for many scripophile collectors this is of course a controversial issue.
