On March 21, 1939, the first stamps of the Slovak Republic came into circulation - Czechoslovak stamps of 1929 - 1938 with a red or blue overprint “Slovenský stát / 1939” (“Slovak State 1939”). In September of the same year, the “National Costumes” series was released, consisting of three stamps of original designs with the inscription “Slovensko”.
