Родился в Хеллефельде 5 апреля 1913 года. Добросовестно исполняя свой долг, он погиб 19 июля 1943 года в ожесточенных боях под Орлом. Он последовал за своим младшим братом Людвигом на небесную родину, который погиб смертью солдата 17 октября 1941 года.
