USSR coins of 1947 were minted, but not released into circulation. This happened due to an error in the number of turns in the tape, symbolizing the number of republics of the USSR (15 instead of 16). But several of these coins have survived and are of great value. In 1948 the problem was solved and corrected.
In general, the design of coins of these years does not change; the basis for minting is the 1935 model. Nickel coins exist only in a new pattern, while bronze coins exist in two types. In 1956, the number of revolutions changed again, because the Karelo-Finnish SSR turned into the Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.
