The main currency of East Timor is the US dollar. But the state has its own small change coins - centavos. In general, the centavo is the currency of exchange in Spanish and Partuguo-speaking countries. The Timorese centavo features East Timorese themes on the obverse. The reverse of the coins indicates the denomination and depicts the East Timorese crown. 100 East Timorese centavos are equal to 1 US dollar. Denominations: 1, 5, 10, 25 and 50 centavos.
