The Kingdom of Tonga is a state in Polynesia. Since 1967, a monetary unit has been introduced - the pa'anga or Tongan dollar (before that there was the Tongan pound). There are coins in circulation in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 paanga (the 1 paanga coin was minted in the shape of a rectangle with rounded edges). The 1st and 2nd seniti coins are out of circulation (the 50th seniti coin was minted in the shape of a dodecagon). from 1975 a portrait of King Taufa'ahau Tupou IV in military uniform, facing forward, and the word TONGA. On the reverse, since 1975, the denomination of the coin and the inscription “Fakalahi meakai” (“produce more food”) around the image of food resources (cows, fish, etc.) have been minted.
