The modern currency of Lebanon is the Lebanese pound, livre. Previously, one Lebanese pound was equal to 100 piastres, but due to inflation in the country, this division was abandoned. In circulation there are coins in denominations of 25, 50, 100, 250 and 500 Lebanese pounds.
