Cape Verde
The monetary unit of Cape Verde is the Cape Verdean escudo. In monetary circulation there are coins in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 escudos. All inscriptions on the coins (except for the names of biological species) are in Portuguese. One escudo is technically equal to 100 centavos, but coins denominated in centavos are not currently issued, and those previously issued are not legal tender.
