Emperor Alexander III was peace-loving, but also proud. This was reflected in coins made of expensive alloys during his reign. Thus, a portrait of the Emperor’s profile was minted on gold and silver coins in denominations of ten rubles, five rubles, three rubles, one ruble, 50 kopecks and 25 kopecks. We also note that during this period the minting of gold 10 rubles returned and the word “half” was replaced by 50 kopecks.
