The period of the reign of Peter I is significant in that machine minting of coins, a decimal system of money (100 kopecks = 1 ruble) were introduced, copper money was introduced, the ruble became a coin (previously it was only a counting unit). The St. Petersburg Mint minted silver rubles and half rubles, Kadashevsky - gold chervonets, silver and copper coins, Krasny - gold chervonets, two rubles and silver coins, and Naberezhny - only copper coins.
