The euro is the official currency of 19 eurozone countries (Austria, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, France, Estonia). The euro is also the national currency of 9 other countries, 7 of which are located in Europe. 1 euro is equal to 100 cents. Coins are issued in denominations of 2 €, 1 €, 0.50 €, 0.20 €, 0.10 €, 0.05 €, 0.02 € and 0.01 €. Many shops in the eurozone prefer to align prices so that they are multiples of 5 cents, for example in Finland 1 and 2 cent coins were not needed; in Austria, on the contrary, the 1 cent coin is very common.
