Cigarette cases and snuff boxes
People from high society used cigarette cases and snuff boxes back in the 17th century; the first mentions of these household items date back to this century.
In the 18th century, cigarette cases and snuff boxes were made of precious metals and decorated with paintings, pearls, and inlaid with stones. Already in the 19th-20th centuries, smoking spread among different segments of the population and cigarette cases with snuff boxes turned from objects of art and luxury into household items.
