Among the reproductions found on postcards, quite a few artists worked in the “children’s theme”: Elizaveta Boehm, Alexander Lavrov and Elena Petrovna Lebedeva-Anokhina. What distinguishes her from other authors is the painfully mature personal life of her characters. This is especially noticeable in the “Little Romance” series. All that is known about Elena Petrovna herself is that she lived in St. Petersburg on 4th Rozhdestvenskaya (now Sovetskaya) Street. On some works she left the signature "E. Swan".
