Catharina Klein (1861-1929) is an outstanding German artist of the Art Nouveau era.
A very small number of her paintings have survived, so we can judge her creativity and style only on the basis of postcards, calendars and posters that were printed based on her works. Some of the paintings were destroyed during World War II, some went into private collections, and many more exist unidentified. Her work is usually signed "C.Klein", but there are also unsigned examples that are easy to identify due to Katharina's unique style.
