On June 1, 1850, the first stamps came into circulation on the territory of Slovenia - stamps of the Austrian Empire, which were in circulation until 1920. In Slovenian post offices such as Ljubljana, correspondence was processed with bilingual calendar stamps in German and Slovenian.
