The first Estonian postage stamp with a floral pattern and a denomination of 5 kopecks was printed on November 22, 1918. The author of the sketch was Rudolf Zero. The stamps were printed at the printing house of G. Bölau in Nõmme (a suburb of Tallinn). In total, stamps of four different denominations were issued in the first series. They were in circulation until June 30, 1926.
