The history of mail and postage stamps of Georgia, located in the Caucasus region of Eurasia at the junction of Eastern Europe and Western Asia, is divided into periods corresponding to the postal systems of the states of which Georgia was located (Russian Empire, TSFSR, USSR), independent state formations of the early 20th century and independent Georgia since 1992. Own postage stamps have been issued on the territory of this state since 1919. Georgia has been a member of the Universal Postal Union since April 1, 1993.
