The history of mail and postage stamps of Côte d'Ivoire describes the development of postal services in Côte d'Ivoire, or the Ivory Coast, a state in West Africa, from the establishment of a French colony there in 1893 and independence since 1960. The colony received its own postage stamps in November 1892, just months before its official establishment. As was typical for the French colonies of that time, the first postage marks of Côte d’Ivoire were colonial-type stamps with the design “Navigation and Trade”. There were 13 denominations in this series - from 1 centime to 1 franc.
