The history of mail and postage stamps in Comoros is divided into the French colonial period and the period of independence since 1975 of this archipelago in the Indian Ocean, located off the south-eastern coast of Africa next to Madagascar. Own postage stamps for the entire territory of Comoros have been issued since 1950, and in 1976 the state was accepted as a member of the Universal Postal Union.
