The postal and stamp history of Djibouti, a state in northeast Africa in the Horn of Africa with its capital in the city of Djibouti, includes the period of French colonial control of this territory, at various times called Djibouti, the French Coast of Somalia, the French Afar and Issa Territory, and the period of independence Djibouti since 1977.
The Republic of Djibouti has been a member of the Universal Postal Union since 1978.
